The hilarious part? The photo is part of a Vanityfair article entitled “I’m With Her” – which of course is about how these dudes are famous for nothing more than dating / humping / marrying / catching a STI from famous women.

Voltron remake is a go; GoBots, Gummi Bears, GI JOE calling their agents

VOLTRON!

Unsurprisingly, a live action remake of Voltron – the popular 80s-era cartoon series – has been green-lighted and just needs the papers to be inked. Variety reports:

New Regency is looking to assemble its own giant robot movie.
The 20th Century Fox-based production entity is close to a deal with the Mark Gordon Co. to adapt “Voltron: Defender of the Universe” into a live-action film.

Gordon has been developing the pic, based on the popular 1980s Japanese animated TV series, comicbooks and toy line, with Justin Marks penning the script.

Should the deal close, project would be one of the company’s more high-profile efforts since Robert Harper took over as chairman-CEO of Regency Filmed Entertainment earlier this year.

Marks’ take is described as a post-apocalyptic tale set in New York City and Mexico. Five ragtag survivors of an alien attack band together and end up piloting the five lion-shaped robots that combine and form the massive sword-wielding Voltron that helps battle Earth’s invaders.

“Voltron” pic has been in the works for nearly three years, with Jim Young’s Animus Films funding its development.

Great. And guess what else they’re brewing?

He is adapting “He-Man and the Masters of the Universe” for Joel Silver at Warner Bros., as well as the Green Arrow pic “Supermax,” also at the studio. Marks also has “Street Fighter” in the works at Hyde Park and Fox.

Street Fighter?? AGAIN?? How can you touch this Van Damme classic?

Van Halen will announce their reunion tour on Monday

David Lee Roth and his former bandmates in Van Halen will officially announce their reunion during a news conference at the Four Seasons Hotel in Los Angeles next Monday, according to their representatives.

“Come witness rock history as Van Halen makes an announcement of monumental proportions,” said a media alert e-mailed on Wednesday by concert promoter Live Nation.

Roth will be present at the 11 a.m. PDT announcement, along with Van Halen guitarist Eddie Van Halen and his older brother, Alex Van Halen, the band’s drummer.

David Lee Roth, and not Sammy Hagar, will be on the mic. And Michael Anthony has been replaced by Wolfgang Van Halen (Eddie’s 16 year old son) on the bass.

PAAANAMA! PANAMA-AHHH!
